Preferred by Nature presented a 25-year commemorative plaque to Columbia Forest Products (Columbia) in recognition of their long-term commitment to landowners and responsible forest management.
Columbia is North America’s largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products. After achieving Forest Stewardship Council® forest management certification in 1998, Columbia is still going strong with its commitment to practicing responsible forest management today.
Columbia began its FSC® certification journey at its Klamath Falls, Oregon plant. Today, all of Columbia’s plywood and veneer mills hold FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification. Columbia works with private landowners to manage their forestland using the FSC Forest Management Standard. Columbia has supply agreements with land management companies that manage forestland to the FSC Forest Management Standard.
One of those companies is Windrock Land Company (Windrock). Windrock was established in 1872 and is still a family-owned and operated business and forestland. Windrock manages 73,000 acres in east Tennessee for forestry, energy and off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding. Its forestland is managed for health, productivity and biological and water resources. All while maintaining trails for the largest OHV park in the east.
Columbia is grateful that Preferred by Nature recognizes its long-term commitment to forest stewardship and is proud to continue its legacy of responsible forestland management throughout the regions where it operates plywood and veneer mills. [FSC-C014650]
