Great article on Columbia Forest Products formaldehyde-free PureBond hardwood plywood which is made with an eco-friendly soy-based adhesive that was used in the cabinetry throughout Building 11108 at Ft. Lee! This building is the brand new home of the Army’s 262nd Quartermaster Battalion. The on-story building proudly boasts approximately 25 cabinet units  constructed with PureBond that are scattered through seven locations in the facility.

The article reiterates specifically that “formaldehyde is classified as a known human carcinogen by the National Toxicology Program, an interagency program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), formaldehyde can also cause eye, nose and throat irritation as well as respiratory problems.”
