Recently, Columbia Forest Products helped Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro by participating in the kick off its 25th anniversary celebration with the public launch of a campaign to raise $4.5 million by 2014, at a breakfast on Oct. 23rd held at the N.C. A&T Alumni-Foundation Event Center.
Speakers at the breakfast included not only Frank Blake, CEO of The Home Depot but our own Brad Thompson, CEO of Columbia Forest Products, who was one of the key speakers at the event (please see above show video). The event recognized sponsors of the 25th Anniversary House Habitat will begin building next spring.
To date Habitat Greensboro has built over 400 homes in Greensboro, plus another 400 in Jordan and Honduras through annual mission trips. Dollars raised in the campaign will be used to build, renovate and repair homes, buy land for future builds, help stabilize Greensboro neighborhoods and help keep families on track with financial counseling and personal zero-percent loan servicing.
