April 2025 Message From Our CEO

April 2025 Message From Our CEO

  • March 24, 2025
  • by Greg Pray, President and CEO

There are a ton of distractions that vie for our time in 2025. I can get as distracted as anyone if I let my guard down from the constant barrage of alarming headlines and expert opinions — the list could go on and on!

The good news is that I’ve found some reliable ways to keep the peace in my head when things get too crazy. A lot of this can be done naturally — with a big dose of fresh air, preferably surrounded by beautiful hardwood trees or standing in a trout stream.

Thanks to the magic of Biophilic Design, we can all gain peace indoors by surrounding ourselves with natural materials like wood.

According to a 2018 study in Australia, “The positive connection people have with wood as a natural material has the effect of increasing workplace satisfaction and wellbeing. Those in workplaces with a higher proportion of visible wood feel more connected to nature and rate their working environment far more positively. These people report lower stress levels, higher concentration and improved overall mood.

This should come as a welcome notion at a time of upheaval, as politics and markets shift, industries evolve and unexpected challenges arise.

Another reassuring thought is that your team at Columbia Forest Products remains focused on serving you — our valued customers — with unwavering dedication, no matter what is changing around us.  It’s what grounds us and motivates us. It’s one of Columbia’s secret sauces.

What we can control and what we commit to doing is delivering the best possible service, products and solutions to you. Here’s how we remain steadfast in our service pledge, even in uncertain times:

  • Prioritizing Your Needs: No matter what’s happening in the market, our energy is spent providing you with exceptional value and solutions that help you move forward with confidence.
  • Staying Agile to Serve You Better: We adapt so you don’t have to. By remaining flexible and innovative, we ensure that our products, services and support evolve to meet your changing needs.
  • Transparent and Open Communication: Trust is built on clarity. We will always keep you informed, engaged and assured that we are here for you, no matter what.
  • Standing by You: Challenges come and go, but our partnership with you remains strong. Your success is our success, and we are committed to standing with you every step of the way.

Through all the noise and uncertainty, one thing is clear — our dedication to you never wavers. We’ve faced challenges before, and together, we will navigate whatever lies ahead.

Thank you for your trust, your partnership and the opportunity to serve you. The best is yet to come.
